College & University Admissions & Application Guidance Services
Application Guidance: Admissions support is a critical component for international students navigating the western educational institutions systems.
- Application Process: TCSN provides assistance with understanding and meeting specific application requirements for international students, including additional documentation like proof of English proficiency, translated transcripts, tracking and meeting deadlines. Our service also includes understanding and completing the Common Application or school-specific forms. Test Preparation, Transcript Evaluation & College Readiness
Test Prep Instruction: Depending on your choice of institution, level and major of study, you are quite likely to have to sit for a standardized examination. We offer test preparation instructions to facilitate your application experience. We also offer guidance on having your transcripts evaluated and serve as your direct local contacts for updates and inquiries.
- Test Preparation: In addition to English Language coaching, we offer services to assist with understanding and preparing for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, GRE, or GMAT, College Entrance exams, including test-taking strategies and study plans. Transcript evaluations are either done in-house by your university or they are outsourced, We will guide you through this process accordingly. Visa and Immigration Support*
Getting Here: Long-term stay in the USA, Canada & EU, such as for the purpose of study, does require that international student secure a student visa.
- Visa and Immigration Support: Pre-entry to your destination of study, we Information on how to apply for student visas, including the necessary documentation and steps involved. Post your entry, your academic institution is responsible for ensuring that you are incompliance with the terms and conditions of your stay, such as maintaining valid visa status. The immigration advisor at your university/college is responsible for helping you understand immigration regulations, work permits (if applicable), and any changes in immigration laws.
Theses and Personal Statements Writing & Typing
Writing & Editing: Prior to and throughout your academic life, writing essays, personal statements, and theses will be important elements of your university experience.
- Typing and Editing: Verbal communication in English will not be sufficient. The need for your to write, construct and edit will be become a common activity. We offer guidance on brainstorming, drafting, and editing personal statements, theses and supplemental essays. This includes feedback on structure, content, and clarity. Our experienced team conducts workshops and seminars on writing strong application essays, including common prompts and best practices.
Post-Arrival Orientation, Transit and Campus Tours
Orientation & Transportation: Orientation plays a critical role in helping you adjust to your new surrounding and in gaining a head-start on navigating university and everyday life in your new country of temporary residence.
- Post-Arrival Support: The peace of mind that comes from knowing that a team of our professional staff is able to meet and greet you at the airport (U.S & Canada, only and based on arrival region), if requested, is an indication of our commitment to international student services. Post your arrival, we also provide a hotline to address your immediate questions and concerns. Additionally, we also arrange city and campus tours to make your acclimation as seamless as possible.
Housing and Living Arrangements
Housing is a Key Activity: Securing a safe, comfortable, convenient and affordable housing is a very important component of the international student experience. We ensure that this step is smooth and stress-free for students.
- Housing Information: A primary function we perform for international students is providing guidance on finding and securing on-campus or off-campus housing, and understanding the housing process in their country of study. However, actual and formal off-campus housing searcher is a function we reserve for our licensed real estate partners. We also provide information about on-campus resources available for international students, including dorm information, student groups, cultural centers, and support services.
Professional Tutoring & English Language Coaching
Hire a Professional Tutor: Whether you are seeking to avoid overcrowded on-campus learning centers, to be instructed in small groups or individually, securing the services of an experienced tutor can facilitate and enhance your chances of success in college/university.
- Academic Support: TCSN offers professional tutoring in a host of subject areas and at various academic levels, all designed to meet or exceed your ancillary educational needs. English Language training, a key area of focus for us, includes Conversational English to allow students to practice their English on a consistent and on-going basis.
Cultural Orientation, Social Engagement & Counseling
Cultural Adjustments. Studies support the fact that the faster a student acclimatizes to a new society, the better they are prepared to navigate and succeed in it. TCSN offers a host of services geared toward student orientation from networking to social activities.
- Orientation Services: Resources and workshops on cultural norms, social expectations, and adapting to life in a new country are key to cultural adjustment. We offer online sessions to prepare students for living abroad, including tips on navigating cultural differences and adjusting to a new environment, as well as expose them to post-arrival opportunities and activities (e.g., social and cultural activities, trips, volunteerism, internships, etc.). Our goal is to make your transition and integration from home to studying abroad seamless.
Career Services and Job Reediness
Career Planning: With job readiness as a central tenet, we support international students with understanding job search, application processes and career planning in a new country.
- Career Services: Guidance on work-study programs, internships, and off-campus employment regulations for international students is usually a function of your academic institution. However, we are well-positioned to guide you in many aspects of career choices and job readiness should you request additional support.
- Note: Regardless of your chosen destination, virtually all countries have regulations specific to international student employment (wether on-campus or off-campuis). Be sure to srictly abide by these rules.
